Glanbia Ireland must deliver for farmers – IFA

on .

Following the vote by Glanbia Co-op shareholders to changes to the Glanbia structure that will create Glanbia Ireland, Irish Farmers' Association (IFA) president Joe Healy said that the new venture must deliver for farmers on product prices and inputs.

Mr Healy welcomed the huge turnout of farmers at Glanbia Co-op’s Special General Meeting on May 18, at which shareholders supported changes to the Glanbia structure to create Glanbia Ireland.

The IFA said that it looks forward to engaging with Glanbia Ireland on behalf of its members.

"The success of Glanbia Ireland will be judged in the long run on its ability to deliver strong base prices for milk and grain, and to deliver competitively priced inputs,” Mr Healy added.
