New CEDRA initiative to advance female entrepreneurs in rural areas.

 

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney and Minister of State for Rural Economic Development, Ann Phelan have announced that their Department has issued a request for tender, under the CEDRA Rural Innovation and Development Fund, seeking service providers with the vision and capability to develop and run an entrepreneurial development programme that will assist aspiring female entrepreneurs living in rural areas.

Copa-Cogeca says investment is needed in EU agriculture and agri-food sectors to boost growth and jobs  

 

Speaking at a conference in Dublin yesterday, Pekka Pesonen, secretary-general of Copa-Cogeca (the Committee of Professional Agricultural Organisations and the General Committee for Agricultural Cooperation in the European Union) outlined the huge importance of the EU agri-food sector for EU rural areas, growth, jobs and food security at a high-level. He also said investment needs to be stepped up to enable the sector to meet its potential.
