Trans-Atlantic mapping to take place in June

The first trans-Atlantic mapping survey is set to take place later this year under the Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance. The survey will deliver important information from the sea floor, which is vital to the sustainable management of the Atlantic, as well as to important industries such as fisheries, aquaculture and tourism.

Teagasc opening


More than €4.5 million has been invested in a new Innovation Centre for Grassland and Dairying at the Teagasc campus in Moorepark, Fermoy, Co Cork. The Paddy O'Keeffe Innovation Centre has been praised as a fitting tribute to a 'legend of Irish agriculture' who dedicated his life to improving the sector.

500 inspections for Farm Safety Fortnight

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has set a target to carry out 500 farm safety inspections during its annual Farm Safety Fortnight which takes place from April 13 – 27. The overall aim is to raise awareness and encourage farmers to be proactive in relation to safety, health and welfare.
