Responding to a leaked EU Commission memo suggesting an all-island approach for the agri-food sector, IFA President Joe Healy said that Ireland's objective in the Brexit negotiations must be the maintenance of the closest possible trading arrangements with all of the UK and Northern Ireland.

A new stakeholder working group, to be established by Teagasc, has a very important mission in promoting dairy farming as an attractive source of employment and, indeed, an opportunity for a successful career in a dynamic sector according to the Irish Farmers Association (IFA). This new working group was announced by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Michael Creed, at the recent Dairy Forum meeting.

Taking place on October 25-26 at the Hub, Cillin Park, Kilkenny, the Energy Now Expo Ireland will feature an exhibition of around 70 suppliers, representing the anaerobic digestion (AD) and biogas, biomass, CHP, energy storage and efficiency, heat pump, hydropower, solar and wind sectors.
