Department of Agriculture issues liver fluke advice



The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has issued advice in relation to the predicted risk of disease caused by liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica) infection in livestock, based on advice received from the Liver Fluke Advisory Group.

Ireland performs well in antibiotic use, conference hears


The use of antibiotics in Irish livestock is among the lowest in Europe, putting Irish agriculture in a good position to deal with EU legislation on potential restrictions on antibiotic use in food animals due to be introduced over the next three years. That's according to vet, Fergal Morris, who addressed an MSD animal health conference in Dublin today (May 25).

January calf care events organised by Teagasc and AHI
