IFA meet with chief Brexit negotiator in Brussels

 

An IFA delegation led by president Joe Healy met with the EU’s chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier in Brussels this week. The IFA president set out the IFA's Brexit priorities as outlined in the recently launched policy document, Brexit: The Imperatives for Irish Farmers and the Agri-food sector.

IFA push for immediate implementation of EU Food Chain report

 

Speaking from Brussels, where the Agriculture Committee of the European Parliament will meet today, Monday, January 9, 2017, to discuss the EU Food Chain report on increased price transparency and independent enforcement to strengthen farmers’ position with retailers, IFA president, Joe Healy, said it is critical that these recommendations are introduced without delay and actively enforced to rebalance power in favour of farmers.
