IFA calls for income averaging in forestry

Irish Farmers' Association (IFA) farm forestry chairman, Michael Fleming, has said that the High Income Earner Restriction (HIER) is unfairly discriminating against farmers with forestry, who are not high earners but realise the majority of their income from the forest at the end of the long growing cycle.

Minister Doyle launches timber forecast and GIS portal

 

Andrew Doyle, Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine with responsibility for forestry, today launched the All Ireland Roundwood Production Forecast 2016-2035. The launch also included a demonstration of the Department’s new GIS Portal which geographically displays Timber Production Forecast results.
