#Ploughing2020 kicks off next week

With no ‘Ploughing’ 2020 due to Covid-19 the National Ploughing Association will be hosting an informative digital engagement schedule during what should have been ‘Ploughing Week’ on September 15th, 16th and 17th.

There will an array of special offers available, interactive competitions, the latest in agriculture machinery, and even be daily fashion shows; as well as some actual ploughing from Ireland’s finest ploughers.

The Enterprise Ireland Innovation Arena Awards winners will be revealed following a summer of stiff competition as ground-breaking agri-related products and cutting-edge innovations from Irish companies have battled it out for a cash fund of €10,000.

On Wednesday ‘The Most Appropriately Dressed Competitions’ will take place as usual, albeit digitally this year; and with hundreds of entries from around the country the finals of the National Brown Bread Competition with Aldi & the ICA will take also place, with a prize fund of over €15,000 for the overall winner.

NPA’s Ploughing Organiser Anna Marie McHugh commented: “Although it is disappointing that ‘Ploughing’ in its traditional sense isn’t going ahead due to the pandemic, we expect to have a very exciting few days digitally, including many memories from over the years.” Details to get involved are available on the NPA’s social media channels - #Ploughing2020
