40,000 wristbands helping to keep your child safe

The National Ploughing Association (NPA) and FBD Insurance are once again joining forces to deliver the ‘Keeping You Safe’ child safety wristband initiative at the 95th National Ploughing Championships (The Ploughing). Over 40,000 child safety wristbands will be available free of charge at event entrances. The wristbands provide space for a parent or guardian to write a contact phone number, helping children to be reunited with their families should they become separated during the event.
Managing director of the NPA, Anna May McHugh, commented: “Over the years, the ‘Keeping You Safe’ wristbands have become a trusted part of the National Ploughing Championships, giving parents and guardians extra peace of mind while they enjoy their day.
“With hundreds of thousands of visitors expected over the three days, it’s easy for children to become distracted by everything there is to see and do. These wristbands provide a simple but effective way of helping families reunite if they become separated, allowing everyone to relax and make the most of the The Ploughing.”
Tomás Ó Midheach, CEO, FBD Insurance said the initiative is a simple but important way of helping families explore and enjoy everything that The Ploughing has to offer with greater peace of mind. “We hope every child visiting The Ploughing wears an FBD wristband and enjoys a fun, memorable, and safe experience,” he said.
Children under 12 years of age are admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult. To guarantee a ticket, visitors are encouraged to book tickets online in advance at www.npa.ie.
