McHale Plant Sales promise biggest - ever presence at Ploughing 2023

Agri-equipment distributors McHale Plant Sales is set to have its biggest-ever presence at the National Ploughing Championships (the Ploughing).

known for Komatsu construction and forestry lines and the increasingly popular Merlo range of telehandlers and worksite equipment, McHale Plant Sales’ exhibit this year will include some new additions. The Prinoth tracked dumper – two of which are currently operating on a landfill project at Allenwood in Co. Kildare – and its ‘incredibly versatile’ Raptor Mulcher stablemate will feature this year.

Prinoth

The Prinoth tracked dumper is a must-see unit that has been described as being as ‘versatile as a Swiss army knife’, according to McHale. It will appeal to contractors in construction, agriculture, civil works and forestry.
Spanning a diverse range of applications Prinoth machines can be found in a variety of sites, including forest floor renewal and the reclamation of forest sites, vegetation management, biomass harvesting, environmental protection and landscape preservation. Equipped with the appropriate job-specific attachment, Prinoth work vehicles are at home also in electric power and transmission projects, wind power, oil and gas pipeline laying, construction, hydro-excavation, costal erosion, firefighting and rescue, mining and drilling.

Agri-appeal

Elsewhere on the McHale Plant Sales display will be other units appealing to those in agricultural and forestry contracting, and ‘opportunity-focused’ visitors on the lookout for growth, new service options and expansion ideas, according to the company.

Komatsu

Reflecting their growing appeal among agricultural contractors, Komatsu models will include the large, robust, agri-specified WA380 Wheel Loader. With it will be two short, tail swing crawler excavators – an ultra-short PC228USLC-11 and PC138US-11 unit – and (space permitting) a Komatsu training simulator used when training operators of Komatsu Harvester and Forwarder timber-harvesting units

Merlo

Popular among contractors in silage-harvesting scenarios is the Merlo range of telehandlers in its distinctive green livery. Models on show will include a MF44.9 Multifarmer and three conventional telehandlers of varying specifications, capacity and size – a TF35.7 medium capacity unit (with 3.5t lift capacity and almost seven meters’ reach height), the compact Merlo P27.6 model (lifting up to 2,700kg to lift height of 5.9m), and a TF38.10 unit (with 9.7m lift height and capacity of 3,800kg).
Speaking to Irish Farmers Monthly, McHale plant sales director, Denis McGrath said: “With the versatile MF44.9CS-170-Multifarmer – a cross-over machine combining the features of a tractor with a telescopic handler that performs all farm work, handling, lifting, transporting loads and operating attachments with high-level performance in towing and tillage – our display will be the best we have ever presented.”
