Krone launches rear-mounted mower with auger conveyor

Krone has expanded its EasyCut series with the new EasyCut R 360 Collect; a rear-mounted mower with an auger conveyor. Depending on requirements, cut crops can either be placed directly on the swath or across the width. When operated on its own, the mower, without the conditioner, has a working width of 3.6m and when combined with a front-mounted mower it has a width of up to 6.5m. According to Krone, the EasyCut R 360 Collect is a solid option for farmers running their own machinery as well as contractors looking for output and flexibility.
The Collect system is based on the EasyCut R 360 but also adds a large 450mm auger conveyor. This feature gives you the option to either lay the crop in a clean swath straight away or spread it wide to help speed up drying when the weather allows. The auger conveyor is operated under a closed, hydraulically adjustable hood that is controlled directly from the tractor cabin. This enables the driver to easily and conveniently switch between wide spreading and swathing, and ensure crops are optimally prepared for subsequent harvesting machines.
The partial widths can also be positioned particularly accurately using the auger conveyor. Using the ‘12-to-6’ process, this ensures that mowing can be completed at 12m and crops can subsequently be consolidated efficiently to 6m using a double rotor centre rotor rake. The Collect system thus enables optimum use of harvesting machines even if mowing is completed later and crop levels are low.
With a mower unit that has six cutting discs and two mower drums, the EasyCut R 360 Collect provides an accurate cutting profile and even crop flow even if volumes are high, according to Krone. Its DuoGrip centre-of-gravity suspension ensures weight is distributed evenly and adjusts to the ground perfectly. The impact damage protection system integrated in the headstock protects the machine reliably against damage caused by collisions.
There is a wide range of optional equipment to adapt the mower to different areas of application. The high-cut skids ensure that the cutting height can be raised to over 90 mm, which is particularly advantageous in dry and rocky regions. A hydraulically adjustable swath cloth always ensures that the swath is uniform even when mowing tapered areas or slopes.
