HiSpec manufactures a range of vertical diet feeders in both single- and double-auger capacities, which start from 10-16m3 for single augers and 14-35m3 for double augers. A new feature of these feeders, according to the company, will be bolt-on-top extensions to increase capacity and simplify manufacturing. This feature will allow HiSpec to improve lead times and customise machines to individual farm needs depending on any height or loading restrictions.
HiSpec’s vertical diet feeders allow the user to quickly and efficiently complete a ration using a low-pitched mixing auger with self-sharpening blades. These blades cut fibres to a desired length, and as the auger rotates, the mix moves vertically along the auger pitch. When the feed reaches the top of the mix it falls to the sides and the conical shape of the body ensures the mix is continuously repeated. As mixing is occurring the entire feed is also being shifted clockwise around the body, the company says.
Construction of the body is made from 20mm floor plate with unique vertical reinforcement underneath to combat any stress during loading and mixing. The body sides are made from 8mm steel, with a choice of multiple door locations for feed out. The auger flighting is 15mm standard with a 20mm flighting available on request for increased durability. The body features manual counter knives which help to catch bales and allow faster processing into the mix.
The vertical diet feeders are fitted with a wide range of features as standard, including a top of the range Dinamica Generale four-point weighing system and read-out. A two-speed gearbox is fitted on sizes 14m and above. This allows for easier restarts after previously mixing some time before. A single axle and single tyres ensure the feeder is stable as it moves around the farmyard. For road travel, a tandem axle can be fitted for additional comfort. LED road lighting and hydraulic brakes are fitted as standard. A single feed outdoor with a chain linked chute is provided for emptying the mix. Additional doors and a range of elevators or conveyors can be fitted to suit your feeding requirements.
Unique to HiSpec, according to the company, is the hydraulically operated teaser roller which is positioned at the door opens and helps to distribute the feed consistently along the passage.
