Three is the magic number

It has been a pretty successful year so far for the sixth generation Valtra S Series, which has won three major design awards. Here, we take a look at the accolades collected by the Finnish tractor brand
Nicknamed 'The Boss', the S Series has had a successful year so far on the rewards front.

In just a few months Valtra's S Series has won a Good Design Award, iF Design Award, and most recently, the prestigious Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025. In a statement from the company, it said this ‘remarkable feat had never been achieved by any tractor brand’. Red Dot judges were so impressed with the S Series’ design and attention-to-user experience that they awarded the tractor the Red Dot: Best of the Best Award, which has never been awarded to a tractor before. This special recognition is the highest distinction in the competition and is only awarded to truly pioneering designs, Valtra says.
The company’s head of industrial design and user experience at Valtra, Kimmo Wihinen said: “It feels extremely special to have won all three of the world’s biggest and most prestigious design competitions with the Valtra S6. All this is tremendous recognition of Valtra’s longstanding commitment to industrial design and user experience, where the customer is always at the centre of everything we do.”

Serial winner

Since 2011, Valtra has won no fewer than nine Red Dot Awards – more than any other tractor brand. Kimmo acknowledged the long-term dedication and teamwork that goes into ensuring continued success: “None of this would be possible without the seamless cooperation of top experts from different fields. The biggest thanks go to all the people who worked on the project, as well as to our customers who push us to even better performance,” he added.
Winners are invited to a special Red Dot Gala event in July in Essen, Germany. The Red Dot: Best of the Best Award will be presented to the Valtra team in the aptly named Aalto-Theater which was designed by renowned Finnish architect, Alvar Aalto.

The S Series can be experienced at many events in the Valtra SmartTour as it travels throughout Europe. Alternatively, the S Series can be viewed and configured in the company’s virtual showroom at any time.
