Agri Aware to hold inaugural ‘Food for Thought’ event

Agri Aware will unveil its inaugural industry-focussed ‘Food for Thought’ event next week in Co. Kildare.

The event will hear from prominent figures in the agricultural sector both nationally and internationally on key topics dominating the headlines in the media across the sector.
Taking place at the Osprey Hotel in Naas on Thursday, January 15, this event will hear from experts including keynote speaker Tadhg Buckley of the Irish Farmers Association, Ksenija Simovic of COPA-COGEGA, Kevin Maher of Dairy Sustainability Ireland and Phelim O'Neill of the Irish Farmers Journal.
Key topics to be discussed on the day include the Mercosur trade deal, the nitrates derogation and the Common Agricultural Policy. Agri Aware executive director, Marcus O’Halloran said: “Next week’s event is an exciting and important opportunity to bring industry together to hear the latest insights on the policies, trade shifts and environmental priorities shaping the Irish agri-food sector today. Not only is it an opportunity to become more aware of the challenges facing the sector, but it also provides a networking opportunity for industry, something that Agri Aware has been keen to provide.
“We are starting 2026 as we mean to go on, with this event not only bringing industry together but also strengthening the sector’s standing in the eyes of consumers as we continue our mission of enhancing agricultural literacy.”
