Dairy Women Ireland Conference – a date for your diary
This week, we are giving a conference call out to the Dairy Women Ireland (DWI) Conference 2024. The ‘Innovation, Resilience, Growth’-themed event takes place on November 23 at the Charleville Park Hotel and features a diverse lineup of expert speakers and interactive sessions designed to inspire, educate, and connect attendees, according to organisers.
The conference will commence with a welcome from Dr Mary Kinston, the 2024 DWI president, followed by a keynote address by Ursula Kelly, managing director of Cormac Tagging who will share her insights on thriving in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Attendees have the opportunity to participate in various breakout sessions tailored to different aspects of dairy farming and business management, including:

Pelvic Health for Women in Agriculture: Staying Healthy While Working Hard featuring Leah Bryans and Ciara Lynch, focusing on health and wellness. - Session 2
Vaccination Calendar – Timing is Everything with Dr Michelle McGrath, Charles Chavasse, and Mella Briscoe, emphasising animal health management. - Session 3
Dairy Business and Technology Management – Planning Ahead for Success led by Deirbhíle Brown and Deirdre Hynes, covering strategic business planning and technological advancements. - Session 4
Where Do We Stand with Nitrates? featuring Dr. Brendan Horan, Dr Noeleen McDonald, and Dr Aine O’Connell, discussing environmental regulations and sustainability. - Session 5
Navigating Farm Schemes with Fiona O’Donnell and Rachel Moloney, providing guidance on accessing and managing farm support schemes.
There will be an afternoon programme featuring a presentation titled ‘The Power of the Mind – From Serious to Hilarious’ given by by psychologist and hypnotist Jason O’Callaghan, followed by a panel discussion on leadership facilitated by Dr Gillian O’Sullivan.
