IFA to hold online info meeting on residential land tax issue

The Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) will hold an online meeting on Wednesday, January 31 to update farmers affected by the Residential Zoned land Tax (RZLT).

Senior officials from both the Department of Housing, Local Government & Heritage and the Department of Finance will attend the meeting, address the audience, and answer questions.
IFA farm business chair, Bill O’Keeffe said updated maps will be published on Thursday, February 1 and landowners who are impacted can make submissions on these maps up to April 1.
“The briefing, which begins at 11am, is an opportunity for those affected by this tax to understand the process and what they need to do to get their land removed from the liability,” Bill said. He added that the IFA has been working for some time to get all genuinely farmed land removed from this tax. “This work will continue, and I encourage all who may be affected to join this meeting,” he said.
