Agri Aware marks milestone with new donation campaign

Agri Aware will mark a major milestone at this year’s National Ploughing Championships (The Ploughing) as the organisation celebrates 30 years of connecting the Irish public with farming and food, and by launching its first donation campaign to garner further support to build on its growing base of activities. The campaign will enable members of the public to support the organisation’s growing and important educational remit and programmes.

Since its establishment in 1996, Agri Aware has worked to improve the understanding of Irish agriculture and the important role it plays in food production, the environment, the economy and communities across the country. This year, visitors to the Agri Aware stand can look back on three decades of agri-food education while also discovering some of the organisation’s newest initiatives.

Among the highlights will be a new collaboration with TikTok, featuring the launch of a specially designed jersey aimed at encouraging people to get behind Irish farming and celebrate the people who produce our food that will be available to purchase at the Agri Aware stand and online.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to meet some of the familiar online faces of Irish farming who are using social media to give the public an insight into life on Irish farms. Through sharing the realities of their working day, these farmers are helping to bring agriculture to new audiences and strengthen the connection between consumers and where their food comes from.

The Ploughing will also see Agri Aware launch a new donation initiative, making it easier for members of the public to directly support the organisation’s educational work. Contributions will help Agri Aware continue to provide engaging and accessible agricultural education to students and the wider public across Ireland. Education will remain at the heart of the stand throughout the three-day event. Agri Aware’s education officers will be on hand to meet teachers, students and parents and provide information on the organisation’s range of free primary and secondary school programmes.
