Kubota disc spreaders set for Irish debut at The Ploughing

Kubota is set to expand its implement offering in Ireland with the introduction of its DS twin-disc fertiliser spreader range, with two models making their Irish debut at this year’s National Ploughing Championships (The Ploughing). The Kubota DSC 700 and DSM 1100 will be the first two models from the range to go on display in Ireland, with both hydraulically controlled machines set to feature on the Kubota stand. The introduction of the DS range will broaden the choice of Kubota implements available to Irish farmers, with the wider range extending from straightforward hydraulically controlled machines through to weighing and precision spreading models.

The DSC 700 sits at the compact end of the Kubota range. The DSC series is available with hopper capacities from 700 to 1,400 litres and working widths from 9m to 21m. Stepping up in size, the DSM 1100 will also make its Irish debut at The Ploughing. The DSM range offers hopper capacities from 1,100 to 2,000 litres, with spreading widths of up to 28m. Both models use Kubota’s twin-disc spreading system, which feeds fertiliser centrally onto the spreading discs before smoothly accelerating it towards the vanes. The system is designed to limit damage to fertiliser granules and maintain their spreading characteristics. The Kubota system uses eight vanes per disc, while the discharge point can be adjusted to suit the physical properties of different fertilisers.

Alongside the new spreaders, Kubota will have a selection of grass implements on display at The Ploughing. The grass line-up will include a DM1022 plain disc mower, a four-rotor tedder and a single-rotor rake, covering mowing, tedding and raking. The machines will sit alongside Kubota’s tractor range on the stand, giving farmers an opportunity to take a closer look at the wider range of Kubota implements available in Ireland.
