Kverneland to launch new grass kit

Kverneland Group Ireland (Kverneland), an official sponsor of this year’s National Ploughing Championships (The Ploughing), will launch two new grass machines onto the Irish market as part of a broad display of Kverneland, McConnel, and Siloking machinery
The Tactus range uses Kverneland’s Duo tine system, with curved 9.5mm tines designed to lift and move the crop while reducing soil contamination.

The new Kverneland Tactus twin-rotor rake and Tersus 4000 flail chopper make their Irish debut at the Tullamore event. Alongside the two new arrivals, the stand will feature a broad selection of machinery aimed at Irish farming systems, covering grass, tillage and crop establishment, crop care, feeding and hedgecutting.

New Tactus and Tersus

The Tactus range of twin-rotor rakes will take centre stage, with working widths from 6.4m to 7.8m across the Tactus 2072 and 2078 models. These new-generation rakes feature Kverneland’s TerraLink Plus ground contour-following system, allowing the rotors to closely follow changing field conditions and helping to maintain a clean rake.

The range also uses Kverneland’s Duo tine system, with curved 9.5mm tines designed to lift and move the crop while reducing soil contamination and helping to produce an even, well-shaped swath.

Also making its Irish debut The Ploughing, the new Kverneland Tersus 4000 flail chopper range is designed for work in grass, crop residues and biomass. The Tersus 4000 is available in three working widths from 2.35m to 3.25m, with 500mm of hydraulic side-shift fitted as standard across the range for working along field boundaries, headlands and around obstacles. The two newcomers will be joined by a number of established machines from Kverneland’s grass range covering mowing, tedding, and baling.

On the tillage side

On the tillage side, there will be a strong showing of 3m machinery, with a range of machines suited to a broad mix of Irish tillage and mixed farming operations. A Kverneland ES plough will feature alongside the 3m Enduro tine cultivator and 3m Qualidisc Farmer disc cultivator, giving growers the opportunity to look over a range of options for cultivation and seedbed preparation. The 3m Saturia will also be on display, offering farmers a one-pass drilling solution that combines seedbed preparation and drilling in a single pass. Crop care will be represented by an Exacta CL Geospread fertiliser spreader and iXter mounted sprayer.

Siloking and McConnel

As the Irish importer and distributor of Siloking and McConnel machinery, Kverneland will also have machines from both manufacturers on the stand. Dairy and beef farmers will have two Siloking feeder wagons to look over, with the TrailedLine twin and single-tub feeders both making the trip to the Ploughing. On the McConnel side, three models from the Power Arm hedgecutter range will be on display, with the 5045, 5562 and 6572T all set to feature.
